The University Series is a large multi-parish adult education program during the season of Lent that I started in 2002 when I was the pastor of St. Paschal Baylon parish in Thousand Oaks.
The University Series 2024 Sessions
The University Series will be in session from February 15-March 22, 2024 in the Ventura, California area and the Whittier/Bellflower, California area and offer over 170 different sessions, across 18 parishes, that connect our faith with real life; offering sessions on scripture, marriage and family, current events, archaeology, science, spirituality, and modern moral issues.
Each year, over 15,000 people have attended University Series sessions. So many people have found that the season of Lent, just before Easter, is a perfect time to gain valuable insights, deep wisdom, and practical help for daily living. Evening sessions are from 7:30 to 9pm, and each speaker is encouraged to have a Q & A time. On any given night, there might be as many as four or five sessions to choose from among the many University Parishes. The Friday sessions are from noon to 1:30 and Saturday sessions are from 9am to 10:30am.

Once again, this year will feature Senior CNN Vatican Correspondent, John Allen, along with former Angels Manager, Mike Scioscia, joining us for the first time.
I will be giving several talks on Faith & Biblical Archaeology and Middle East Politics.

The University Series Whittier Fees & Locations
**The Whittier Area University Series will return in 2024.**
Registration and tuition is at-the-door the evening of the class. Each session is $5 per person, and you can bring a guest free.

The University Series is incorporated as a non-profit foundation through the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. All proceeds go to further Catholic adult education in our area.
