Gospel Reflections for November 23 2025

Get me the Manager!

You might hear that a lot as the busy Christmas shopping season starts.

Tensions can escalate in crowded stores and sometimes impatient customers demand help from the boss. I once saw a customer angrily do this, but was greatly impressed how quickly a wise store manager diffused and solved the situation. How wonderful if there were thousands of store managers like this!

We like to talk directly to the boss because we want results. People like to connect right away to the person …who can actually solve the problem …and right now!

Today is the Feast of Christ the King. It expresses the same desire of that customer, and affirms that you now know just where to go for the deepest needs of your soul.

Wise leaders do not always provide what you think you want, but what you actually need, or tell you how to get it yourself. Our Lord does both. While He can instantly provide virtues like hope, courage, and compassion, He also invites you to follow His words and deeds every day, and apply them yourself to your problems to solve them. You need this heavenly King every day of the year!

Jesus is presented as a King even while on the cross! That affirms that nothing would stop His mission of love and salvation for you, not even the cross. The person crucified next to Him accurately discerned who Jesus was and what he could provide, and humbly asks for it, saying, “Remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”

Knowing accurately who Jesus is and what He provides can be your mission during the Season of Advent beginning next Sunday. Spend more time in prayer, read the New Testament every day, and even various chapters in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (available on Amazon).

These will ensure that what you want in life will be the same as Our Lord’s will for you.

You will receive what Our Lord has in store for you, which is not only your salvation, but lasting peace and happiness here as well.

The Feast of Christ the King reaffirms that Our Lord will always be with you in every moment of your life, and especially when you cry out for His help.

You can always call on this Heavenly Manager for your deepest needs.

God Bless!

The Joy it brings in having Jesus our King in such close contact is wonderful. Sure makes life more enjoyable.Sharing our every day problems and pressures brings comfort the World can not provide.
That Relationship is well worth developing bringing with it Eternal benefits.
Our Catholic Faith shows what We’ must do to bring this relationship about. The Kingdom of God awaits our decision. Keeping this relationship is the benefit of frequent reception of the Sacraments .
Our Faith is the Key to maintaining this Relationship.
Thanks Father Dave for your splendid vocation in guiding us.

    Dear Father Dave

Yes, the good manager and problem solver!

Yes, our Christ on the excruciating cross of salvation brings tears. Our Christ the King brings hope, faith, and love into our hearts.

How fitting that “Thanksgiving” is this week. I offer momentous gratitude for God’s mercy.

God bless you now and forever.
