Gospel Reflections for March 29 2026
Follow me!
On this Sunday you will receive palms to wave just as the people in the Gospel waved palms and celebrated the arrival of Jesus into Jerusalem.
This account of His last days recalls the first days of His ministry, when He walked along the shore of the Sea of Galilee and called His first disciples.
He began with two simple words, and they remain today a clear summary of what it means to be Catholic. These two words encompass everything you need to know about your faith and how to live it well.
Jesus looks at each person and simply says, Follow me. …What else do you need to know? That is the whole summary of our faith. In every moment of your life, at home, work, or school, you must seek only to follow the example and teachings of Our Lord.
As the crowd physically followed Jesus into Jerusalem that first Palm Sunday, decide now to literally follow Him all this week as well, by joining with Our Lord in our Holy Week services.
Follow Him on Holy Thursday at 7pm and celebrate the Last Supper He shared with His disciples. He knew you would need His presence within you after He was gone so He left His Eucharistic presence to encourage and guide you with His love for you each week.
Follow Him on Good Friday at Stations of the Cross at Noon and the Good Friday Passion Liturgy at 3pm, and the special youth and young adult led Reflections on the Passion of the Lord with Dramatization at 6:30pm.
You can see just how much suffering He would endure out of love for you. You can ponder His amazing words from the Cross even as He is being crucified as He asks God to “Forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
Finally, and most important of all, follow Him on Easter Sunday, when you can celebrate His resurrection …and the total victory of the way of Christ over death and all suffering when He rose from the dead.
No other person in history has ever risen from the dead so the life of Our Lord is worth taking seriously. That is best done by actually walking in His footsteps. You can do so in the services this Holy Week.
His way always works for true and lasting happiness for those who always… follow Him!
God Bless!
Fr. Dave

Happy Easter Fr. Dave.

Dear Father Dave,
Holy week is quite seriously, HOLY WEEK….
